You will find us on the A431 at Bitton, just past Avon Valley Railway (on the way to Bath) on the scenic route between Bath and Bristol
In addition to a wide selection of plants, shrubs and trees, we also have a wide range of garden tools and supplies. You will also find a select range of garden furniture from manufacturers such as Alexander Rose and Kettler; we are also a distributor of the world famous Broil King barbecues.
Fonthill is constantly evolving and has recently seen the addition of some modern new plant display areas and our modern style The Pine Tree Coffee Shop; here you will always find a selection of light lunches and delicious homemade cakes to tempt you.
We always stock a wide range of high quality plants many produced exclusively for us at our own nursery at Cranway in Somerset. In addition to a wide selection of plants, shrubs and trees, we also have a wide range of garden tools and supplies.
Friendly staff and great service
We like to have lots of members of staff available on site all day every day – we’re the ones in purple watering and pruning but more importantly we want to be available to help and talk through your gardening enquiries. If we don’t know the answer we’ll find someone who does, and the feedback you give us about what has worked for you we pass on to the next customer and expand our knowledge of what grows well locally and what might be an issue.
With many products (especially compost) being both bulky and heavy we’re on hand to help load your car and can also deliver if required. Week to week we focus on what to sow, tools for the jobs you should be doing and plants in flower – so if you want an all year garden keep coming back throughout the year and buying a bit of what you find.
Want some free advice?
What’s the one piece of advice we’d like to tell everyone? – Feed your plants – you feed the kids (constantly), you put petrol in the car, yet when if comes to plants it’s often “well I fed them once in the spring…” – different plants require different amounts, but they all need feeding throughout the growing year (less so in the winter). A plant that has disease and is in general poor health probably started going down hill through lack of food – a well fed plant will be better at fighting off diseases.
